Poppybox Gardens
PORTLAND, OREGON
This flagship store for a plant nursery and garden center is located in a shopping mall outside Portland. The store has qualities that its big box neighbors often lack: natural light, spatial drama, and a strong material character. Its extended structure winds its way through the site, transitioning from interior sales areas to open greenhouses. The architecture is woven into the land creating a sequence of interior and exterior enclosed spaces and garden archetypes, each with its own unique scale and character.
