San Francisco, California
This project consists of the simultaneous renovation of two nearly identical flats. The interior hallway walls were removed and replaced with full-height translucent sliding glass panels that span the entire length of both apartments. These frosted panels bring light into the core of the apartment and allow the space to be selectively reconfigured. New rooms, rendered in clean modern materials—ceramic tile, dark-stained mahogany and stainless steel—contrast the living, dining and bedrooms, which are preserved in their original state.
